Evidently, at present, majority of prison inmates are serving a sentence of imprisonment less than 02 years or they are serving a sentence of imprisonment due to their inability to deposit fines imposed against them upon conviction by the Courts. In this context, sending such minor offenders to serve a community correction order in lieu of sentence of imprisonment or imposition of fines upon conviction brings numerous advantages not only towards his personal identity and his/her family members but also it is beneficial to the entire society and the government.
